Chief Minister of Telangana, Mr. A. Revanth Reddy, is all set to visit Osmania University campus on Wednesday, 10th December. This would be his second visit to the campus within the last few months, indicating some priority after a decade of relative neglect.
While the CM’s visit and the government’s attention are welcome, we do have a few questions for the Chief Minister.
Questions from Pavan Rachakonda (Sem. I)
Is Osmania University intended to serve as a platform for political campaigns, dharnas, or celebratory events marking the birthdays of political leaders and public figures, or should the campus be reserved exclusively for academic and student-related activities?
The previous BRS government appeared to show limited engagement with Osmania University. What specific factors or developments have prompted the current government, including the Hon’ble Chief Minister, to visit the campus and interact with the student community at this time?
The Congress Party’s 2023 election manifesto pledged to release an annual job calendar and carry out direct recruitment accordingly. Given that this commitment has not yet been realized, is there a realistic possibility that the government will fulfil this promise within the remaining 2.5 years of its term?
Your second visit to the campus within the last few months shows the priority you attach to the University. What is your assessment of the overall situation of Osmania University?
What are the three things you plan to do for the University immediately?
What would you like Osmania to achieve in the next five years?
Recently, the government of Telangana announced a new university for industrial design. Did you consider the option of including it within OU by expanding a new West Campus?
You have often said education is a high priority for the government. Are the investments in education being linked to particular outcomes?
Do you plan to keep the education portfolio with yourself for the rest of the government’s term?
